Spring wedding at Wellington Barn

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

One of the first weddings we ever photographed was at Wellington Barn in Calstone, and four years later we still love going back to the venue to photograph special days and celebrations.

I think it is the location that makes Wellington Barn such a great venue, situated between Calne and Devizes in the middle of nowhere - and that is the point, there will be no gate crashers helping themselves to the Pimms, or random hotel guests checking themselves in to a room whilst you're cutting the cake. The tranquility lends itself to a relaxing and informal wedding day with your family and friends.

We've photographed quite a few weddings and receptions at the former ox barn and thought we would show a selection of photos from Laura and Paul's big day at the start of May this year. The detail that went into the decorations and personalising the day to their own style and tastes was incredible, and made it that bit more beautiful.

Such a friendly, welcoming and fabulous couple that were a joy to photograph and share their special day with, from the arrivals of the wedding party until the end of the speeches and cutting the cake.

A beautiful Summer wedding

Saturday, June 29, 2013

Lauren and Chris celebrated their special day with family and friends, getting married at the beautiful St Mary the Virgin Church in Bishops Cannings. After a rainy and windswept rehearsal the evening before the couple were greeted with glorious sunshine on their wedding day! The church is absolutely stunning and so much light and space inside makes it perfect for us as photographers!

They later celebrated their reception just a few miles away at Wellington Barn in Calstone, near Calne. Wellington Barn is one of our favourite venues, as it is completely in the middle of nowhere - just an ideal place for couples to relax with their guests, surrounded by beautiful hills and the rolling Wiltshire countryside.

It was an absolute pleasure to photograph their wedding day, Lauren and Chris are such a lovely couple and their families and friends made it even more special for us to enjoy the day just as if we were old friends.

We haven't featured any of the weddings we have photographed in detail before, but thought it would be a good idea to show you a little more of the way we photograph a wedding day. For us beautiful wedding photography means that when you look back at your pictures they bring a smile to your face as it brings back memories of the day and really tells the story of your wedding day, rather than being a series of uncomfortable and stiff poses that your parents did 30 years ago!

Of course everyone wants a selection of formal group photos, but the real emphasis is on relaxed and natural photos that allow the bride and groom to enjoy their wedding day with each other and with their guests... not to just be on a constant photoshoot!

After the big day we email the bride and groom a photo within 48 hours and then the rest are edited and sent in the highest quality on a disc within 2-3 weeks, together with the full printing rights, to print as many photos as often and as big as they like!

Lauren and Chris had around 1200 photos on their discs to help treasure their special day, as well as a folder of around 100 edited favourites - these are the shots that we pick out as being the best poses, details or moments from the day and put them into a black and white, vintage, or suitable style to match the couples personalities.

Here are a selection of the favourites. We hope you enjoy them!

Wedding Season has begun!

Monday, April 18, 2011

Spring has officially started in England and with all this lovely sunshine the wedding season has also started for us. Last weekend we had the pleasure of capturing the big day for two very special couples.

Both couples were very lucky and got the nice weather they deserved for their wedding day – it was very enjoyable for us and we would like to thank them once again for making us part of their special day. We believe that the images and video captured their day well and hope that it will be a great way to relive the day over and over again!

As we know how hard it is to be waiting around for ages to see the photos of your big day, we always make sure that we email you one or two photos within a few days of your wedding. The rest of the photos and your video, if you like, will also be posted to you within 2 weeks – ready for your return from your honeymoon. Here is a little sneak preview of images, which we have sent to the couples the day after their wedding:

Congratulations to Nadia and Jack, married 15th April 2011.
