Shabby chic Summer wedding at Guyers House, Corsham

Friday, October 17, 2014

We are lucky to have so many beautiful wedding venues in Wiltshire, Bath and Somerset, but there is something a little bit special about Guyers House in Corsham. The building is stunning and provides the most amazing intimate location for your wedding party and guests, but in terms of beautiful backdrops, this venue has something much more important - some hidden gems!

When we take the bride and groom for their couple shots, our style of photography is all about relaxed, beautiful pictures that reflect their personalities.  One of the biggest factors in achieving this is taking the couple away from all of their guests, so they don't feel like they are being watched, or get distracted when an Aunty comes over to get a photo on her mobile!  And this is where Guyers House comes into it's own - there is so much to offer around the gardens, by the pond, in the archway, in the vegetable garden, down the avenue of trees, or simply by the beautiful back door.  A selection of wonderful backdrops, all away from the eyes of your guests!

After photographing Sarah and Matthew's wedding there last year I was really happy to return again in August to photograph Lucy and Graeme's wedding day. And what an incredible day it was - such a fantastic and fun couple, and the venue looked even more spectacular with vintage shabby chic styling.

Here are a selection of photos from the start of the day up until the evening entertainment. Photography by Jamie McDine of Wiltshire Wedding Photography.

Summer wedding at The Holburne Museum, Bath

Tuesday, October 14, 2014

One of the most spectacular wedding venues for any ceremony this year has to be the picture gallery at the Holburne Museum in Bath, which was the setting for Amy and Jon's special day in July.  With stunning paintings adorning the deep blue walls, beautiful light coming through the large sky lights in the ceiling, and a spacious yet still intimate feel to the room, it provided the perfect setting for the wedding ceremony.

Amy was a bridesmaid at Lara and Simon's wedding, which we photographed last September, and this time her friend returned the favour as her bridesmaid!  After the drama of a detour to collect the beautiful hair piece that completed Amy's boho-chic look, everything went smoothly and it was a joy to photograph their wedding day, sharing it with Amy and Jon and getting to know their families and friends.

After the ceremony we headed into Sidney Gardens behind the venue for some beautiful shots of the couple away from the eyes of all their guests, before heading across to The Wheatsheaf in Combe Hay for the reception and without doubt one of the best wedding meals of the year.

Spring wedding at Wellington Barn

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

One of the first weddings we ever photographed was at Wellington Barn in Calstone, and four years later we still love going back to the venue to photograph special days and celebrations.

I think it is the location that makes Wellington Barn such a great venue, situated between Calne and Devizes in the middle of nowhere - and that is the point, there will be no gate crashers helping themselves to the Pimms, or random hotel guests checking themselves in to a room whilst you're cutting the cake. The tranquility lends itself to a relaxing and informal wedding day with your family and friends.

We've photographed quite a few weddings and receptions at the former ox barn and thought we would show a selection of photos from Laura and Paul's big day at the start of May this year. The detail that went into the decorations and personalising the day to their own style and tastes was incredible, and made it that bit more beautiful.

Such a friendly, welcoming and fabulous couple that were a joy to photograph and share their special day with, from the arrivals of the wedding party until the end of the speeches and cutting the cake.
